Chitose Moto [Singer]
Born on Amami Oshima Island, Kagoshima Prefecture, she is a singer with a unique singing voice. After her hometown Amami Oshima was registered as a World Natural Heritage site, she attracted attention as a storyteller who inherits “shima-uta” ( traditional folk songs of the island). This year marks the 20th anniversary of her debut with “Wadatsumi no Ki” and her new song “Enishi-arite” was released on February 2.

Yakushima (Kagoshima Prefecture)
Registered as a UNESCO World Natural Heritage Site in 1993. Almost all of the island, which has an area of 504.29 km2, is mountainous, with a rich natural environment.
Yakushima is also known as the setting for the Studio Ghibli film Princess Mononoke. The Jomon cedar tree, the symbol of Yakushima, is said to be 2,000 to 7,200 years old.
Amami Oshima (Kagoshima Prefecture)
Registered as a UNESCO World Natural Heritage site in 2021. Most of the island, with an area of 712.35 km2, is mountainous and covered with subtropical terrestrial forests.
Mangrove forests also remain, and the beautiful beaches are popular among surfers and divers.

Please note that the schedule and events may be changed or cancelled due to measures to prevent the spread of infectious diseases, weather and sea conditions, failure to reach the minimum number of passengers, and other circumstances (e.g., acceptance of passengers at the departure and arrival points and ports of call).
The meeting time is scheduled to be around 10:30-11:30. The final meeting time will be announced in the final document (Cruise Handbook).

Travel Conditions (Summary)

1. Application for the travel program
a. Please fill in the necessary items on the prescribed application form and submit it with the following amount per person as an application fee.
The agent-organized tour contract will be concluded when the Company (Mitsui O.S.K. Lines, Ltd.) accepts the contract and receives the application fee.
Travel fee (per person)
Less than 150,000 yen Application fee: 20,000 yen
150,000-299,999 yen Application fee: 30,000 yen
300,000 yen or more Application fee 50,000 yen
b. In the case of an application by telephone, please complete the application procedures in a. above within three days from the day following the application.
In such a case, the contract for the agent-organized tour shall be deemed to have been concluded when the application fee is received.
2. Payment of the travel fee
The balance of the travel fee, excluding the application fee, must be paid in full at the time of the reservation if the reservation is made less than two months prior to the start of the tour, counting back from the day before the travel start date.
3. Items included in the travel fee
a. Fares for ships, buses, etc. as specified in the itinerary.
b. Meals and participation in onboard events as specified in the itinerary (excluding some material costs).
c. Sightseeing as specified in the itinerary.
4. Items not included in the travel fee
(Items not listed in the previous paragraph are not included. The following are some examples.)
a. Medical expenses and other expenses related to disability and illness, travel insurance and personal effects insurance.
b. Expenses of a personal nature such as alcoholic beverages, cleaning (such as laundry), telegrams, telephone charges, additional food and beverages, and related taxes and service charges.
c. Charged services on board.
d. Costs of optional excursions at ports of call, if requested.
e. Transportation and other personal expenses to and from the point of departure and disembarkation.
f. Additional charges due to changes in cabin class or number of passengers.
g. Fuel surcharges are free of charge as of November 1, 2021, but depending on future trends in crude oil prices, passengers may be required to pay such surcharges in addition to the travel fee.
5. Cancellation fee (domestic travel)
(The cancellation date shall be counted from the day before the departure date of the travel.)
In the event of cancellation at the convenience of the customer after the completion of the travel contract, the cancellation fee shown in the table below will be charged.
Counting back from the day before the travel start date:
Up to 21 days before: free of charge
20 days to 8 days before: 20% of the travel fee
7 days to 2 days before: 30% of the travel fee
One day before the travel start date: 40% of the travel fee
On the day of the travel start date (except after the start of the travel): 50% of the travel fee
After the start of the travel or no-show: 100% of the travel fee
6. Whether or not there is a tour guide
No tour guide will accompany you, but cruise staff will take care of you while on board.
7. Minimum number of participants: 160
In the event that the number of participants does not reach the minimum number of participants specified, the program will be cancelled.
In such a case, the Company will notify the Participant at least 13 days prior to the day before the travel start date.
8. Other matters
a. In the event that the travel fee is increased due to an increase in the fare or charge of transportation, the Company shall notify the Participant of the increase no later than the 15th day prior to the day before the travel start date.
b. In the event of a natural disaster, a war, a dispute with a transportation agency, or any other event beyond the Company’s control, the Company may, in order to ensure the safe and smooth implementation of the travel, cancel the program if necessary.
c. The travel conditions and travel fees are based on February 1, 2022
d. Other matters shall be in accordance with the Company’s (Mitsui O.S.K. Lines, Ltd.) Travel Terms and Conditions and General Conditions of Travel Business (Agent-Organized Tour Contract).
